A huge fire has broken out at an industrial estate near the Etihad Stadium.
The blaze tore through three industrial storage units on Briscoe Lane in Newton Heath in the early hours of the morning.
Briscoe Lane is currently closed to traffic.
Alan Turing Way was also closed, but fire crews had it reopened before 7am.
There are currently 12 fire engines at the scene, as the fire continues to roar on through the building, which is used to store kitchen appliances and books.
Residents are being urged to keep windows and doors shut due to the smoke.
Fire crews are using water from the nearby canal to tackle the blaze, and the electricity supply to the building has been turned off, according to a post on the Manchester Fire website.
A statement on the website says: "Firefighters have been working through the night to keep an industrial storage unit fire under control.
"Crews were called to the incident on Briscoe Lane, Manchester at 00:26 on July 17 and we currently have 12 fire engines and two hydraulic platforms tackling the blaze.
"Although the smoke plume is going directly into the air and not drifting into any nearby properties, local residents are advised to keep windows and doors shut if they smell smoke.
