Donald Trump’s former doctor has claimed that the President wrote his own ‘astonishingly excellent’ health letter.
Dr Harold Bornstein told CNN that the 2015 letter stating that Trump was the ‘healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency’ was not his professional declaration.img src="https://metrouk2.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/image134.jpg?quality=80&strip=all&crop=1px%2C6px%2C305px%2C229px&resize=150%2C113&w=100&h=75" data-aspect="1.3274336283186" data-rewritten="false"">>Anguished face of nurse who left her toddler daughter to die in a hot car
He told the US publication: ‘[Trump] dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter. I would tell him what he couldn’t put in there.’
In the letter, Trump’s blood pressure was described as ‘astonishingly excellent’. It also said he had lost 15lb (7kg) over the course of a year.
It also said: ‘His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary… If elected, Mr Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.’
Weeks ahead of the release, Trump wrote on social media that the medical report would show ‘perfection’ and that he was ‘fortunate to have been blessed with great genes.’
Dr Bornstein also claimed that Trump’s bodyguard raided his office in February 2017 and took the original and only copy of Trump’s medical charts.img src="https://metrouk2.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/image133.jpg?quality=80&strip=all&crop=349px%2C15px%2C291px%2C219px&resize=150%2C113&w=100&h=75" data-aspect="1.3274336283186" data-rewritten="false"">>Cheerleader says coach called her 'skinny-fat' and used tape to make her skin taut
He identified the two men as long-time security man Keith Schiller and the Trump Organization’s chief legal officer Alan Garten.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders responded that it was not a raid and that it was ‘standard procedure’ for the White House Medical Unit to take care of the President’s medical records.
Dr Bornstein was Trump’s personal physician since 1980, but their ‘ties were cut’ after he told a newspaper that Trump was using hair growth medication for years, in 2017.
Earlier this year, Trump had a three-hour medical examination amid speculation over his mental health.
White House doctor Dr Ronny Jackson said in January: ‘The President is mentally very sharp, very intact.’
When a journalist asked: ‘Can you explain how a guy who eats McDonald’s… and all those Diet Coke’s, and who never exercises is in as good shape as you say he’s in?’
Dr Jackson replied: ‘It’s called genetics’, and added, ‘I told the President that if he had healthier diet over the last 20 years he might’ve lived until he’s 200 years old.’
