SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. - Officials are asking anyone who was injured in Tuesday's explosion to contact police.
The Sun Prairie Police Department said Thursday that it is asking the public's help in identifying anyone who may have been injured in a gas explosion Tuesday night that killed a firefighter, injured multiple others, leveled buildings and destroyed part of the downtown area.
The explosion and ensuing fire happened about 30 minutes after a contractor punctured a natural gas line near Main Street and North Bristol Street. A fire inside Glass Nickel Pizza at 101 W. Main St. briefly rekindled overnight Wednesday, about 28 hours after the initial blast. Firefighters quickly put out the small blaze.
Anyone injured as a result of the explosion is asked to call the Sun Prairie Police Department non-emergency line at 608-837-7336.
