Former UCLA Basketball Player Billy Knight, 39, Found Dead On Phoenix Road

Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight was found dead early Sunday morning on a Phoenix road, police in Arizona confirmed (via the Los Angeles Daily News).

He was 39.

The cause of death hasn't been determined, but Knight was found after posting a six-minute video to YouTube titled, "Billy Knight 'I'm Sorry Lord'" in which he speaks about his “life of sin” and says it will be his “last message on earth.” 

Knight played for UCLA from 1998-2002, averaging more than 14 points per game his senior season. He wasn't chosen in 2002 NBA Draft but played professionally in France and Japan.

The Bruins basketball program tweeted its condolences on Tuesday: "Our hearts are heavy."

Knight's death is the second of a former UCLA basketball player in the past week. Tyler Honeycutt died over the weekend after a police standoff in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
